Autumn harvest in downtown Oakville

The autumn months and Oakville’s downtown are a recipe for amazing walks, making it the perfect activity for the whole family and friends. The entire downtown core is decorated in a fall festival theme and many merchants offer free in-house seminars and crafts including hair braiding, pottery and necklace making. Some of the restaurants are offering free tastings of their scrumptious fare.

So if you’re ever Downtown Oakville and you’re looking for a list of fun ways to celebrate fall, look no further than this Harvest Autumn event in Oakville every Saturday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. until Oct. 29.

Using the map you can find all the activities, workshops and events throughout the downtown.

“Autumn is a time of gathering together. And we want visitors to enjoy the natural beauty of the four seasons. Autumn has especially nice weather and is a season when people can taste many delicious foods, make a great and memorable time with friends and family,” said Alana Bailey who has volunteered at the event, doing Harvest Festival crafts for kids.
“I’m totally down for all the seasonal hype because autumn has always been my favourite season and I can’t get enough of it! And Harvest Autumn event downtown Oakville is just what people need to spend an awesome time at,” said Diana McKinnon.

Free horse-drawn wagon rides leaves approximately every 20 minutes from Towne Square (Lakeshore Rd. East St.) during operating hours.

“Wagon rides – a kid favourite! Loved and enjoyed every minute of it. I don’t know who had more fun – my children or myself (laughing),” said Marline Shyer, a mother of two sons.

Following dinner you can grab Ravioli pasta and specialties from the heart of the Calogero Family on 50 Lakeshore Rd. West. Italian restaurant Pasquale’s Trattoria invites to enjoy traditional dishes, in the relaxing atmosphere where everyone is welcomed. Pasquale’s Trattoria is a venue where friends and family can come and try apple butter spice cake or cranberry upside-down sour cream cakes, choosing from autumn harvest tasting menu.
