The LGBT club has put together a drag show for Thursday, April 6 at the Marquee. The show includes colourful dress contest, lip sync, balloon drop and there are prizes to be won. On Tuesday in the S-Wing Chantel Samson, first-year Child and Youth Worker, and Deklan Bailey, second-year Social Worker, set up a table to sell tickets to the Thursday’s Drag Show & Pub Night.

Sheridan’s Sexuality and Gender Diversity Club has been around for couple of years at Sheridan and they meet every Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. in G302. “Depending on students’ school schedules, about eight to ten people show up. There are way many more members on Sheridan social media pages, a few hundred. We have an open door policy. You don’t have to come every Tuesday and we also alternate our week One week we do something fun like watching a movie. Other week strictly business. We talk about events, how to set it up and who wants to help,” explained Bailey.

For the drag show the SSU is bringing in outside performers from the same drag company that was here a month ago. Anyone who would like to participate in the show can sign up online. “We are always trying to put some type of event on. Tonight there is a movie night that shows short films written and produced by LGBT students and Wednesday we play games like Monopoly in the coffee loft,” said Samson.

Tickets for the show cost $5.
