The Power of Concert-Themed Fashion

Concert is the biggest representative place that brings people together who share the same taste in music and enjoying the same vibe. Investing time and money in things you love is incredibly valuable and can also increase people’s self-satisfaction through the feeling of compensating myself.

“Fans of certain artists go to what they could consider to be extreme length to the point where that they would classify it as a costume more than mere outfit” said Zach cropper who is one of the biggest fans of the band called Goose also having experience of attending various singer’s concerts being participated and concerned in the theme of dress code for setting up himself to match the atmosphere of the concert. Like this way people are considering their outfits to make them into a specific mode just by dressing up in a dress code to feel more excited and to be prepared for an event they attend too.  For the most typical example for this is fans of Taylor Swift most recent tour where it became a trend to dress up like their own favorite album era of the singer’s album such as shorts or jeans, t-shirts or hoodie, depending on the weather and accessorizing their outfit.

Another consideration that could come while participating in the dress code is the venue whether the show is in a theatre or in an arena or stadium. If the place is more expected to be standing most of the time people will be more prioritize comfortable footwear more than a place that reserves seats. “When I attend shows at Budweiser Stage in the summer, I typically wear short and sandals but always brought a hoodie as well since the breeze off the lake can make it cool in the evening” Zach said as weather conditions could be the priority of planning the outfit for the concert.

Mariana Duque who had attended Celine Dion’s second residency in Vegas in 2011 said “By the venue itself, so more from the artists’ perspective. The concept of ‘Celine’ was elegant and in a very elegant venue. As a result, no jeans were in sight! As I said previously, the concept of the show was all about glamour and elegance, and because she wore haute couture dresses every night, the audience also participated in the whole concept of what the show was about. It was a collaborative experience for sure and it definitely felt like an EXPERIENCE.” expressing how much you are participating in a concert that you feel passionate about totally changes the entire vibe and the level of participation for the audience.

Where the theme of the concert was all about elegance and glamour which was more focused on the artist’s perspective because she wore haute couture dresses every night, the audience also participated in the whole concept of what the show was about.

Even when attending just one concert, we can see that people invest a lot of time and effort to increase their expectations by adjusting to the weather, location, and the singer’sunique style on stage. According to those who enjoys matching their vibe in the concert theme just by dressing up says that it totally changes the vibe of the artists and their music when it fosters a sense of community and belonging not only with the artists to show up but with all the fans attending the concert enhancing each other. Provides entertainment to the fans even before the start of the show by seeing what others are wearing and potentially gleaning some inspiration from others outfit for the future coming concert. It could be a special method of communication between people in a nonverbal way without directly having a conversation with others but expressing a stronger bond as a community.
