Small to medium-size enterprises (SMEs) are a vital part of Canada’s economy. There are over one million SMEs in the country. These businesses provide employment as well as innovation in many fields of industry.

Historically, women have had a significantly smaller influence on the business world. They have been restricted and held back. Now their role in entrepreneurship is growing steadily despite the odds.
