Sheridan students, staff and faculty now have a new way to pay for parking on campus with their smartphone. HonkMobile launched a mobile parking payment app, replacing QPay and Locomobi.
“Sheridan made the transition to Honk as it allowed for seamless integration with epark, i.e with no added expenses to the college,” explained Catherine Sloat, manager of security and parking operations.
HonkMobile is available for approximately 4,000 spaces across 14 parking lots at Sheridan’s Trafalgar Campus, Hazel McCallion Campus, Skills Training Centre, and Davis Campus and is North America’s leading provider of on-demand mobile payments for parking. The cloud-based technology streamlines parking by allowing users to search, pay for, and top up parking from their mobile phone, tablet or any Internet-connected device. According to https://www.honkmobile.com, the app is already accepted at more than 400 locations and 15,000 parking spaces across Canada and the United States.
HonkMobile is available for free on iOS and Android devices. Once you set up an account, you enter a destination, and the amount of time you need, making it super easy for drivers to find and pay for spots even before leaving their houses.
Honk users receive alerts 15 minutes prior to when their parking ticket expires, giving them the option to pay for extra time.
“HonkMobile is intended to provide a convenient way for anyone visiting Sheridan to pay for hourly, daily, or evening parking from the convenience of their mobile phone. As an added bonus, Honk’s service fee to a customer is 25 cents versus QPay/Locomobi’s fee of 35 cents. It is a very good alternative to coin payment, and in addition to credit cards, offers debit payment option, which the pay stations do not,” said Sloat.
